AWDF is supporting Pendeza Weaving project CBO to implement Women Economic Innovation for Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience [WEICCAR Project] - Dec 2017 to Nov 2018

Improve and strengthen rural women and youth economy by involving them in cotton value chain to provide quality handwoven apparels for sale both local and international.Pendeza is championing poverty reduction through social enterprise, mentoring the poor rural communities to move from Aid to trade for sustainable development.
In 2008, Pendeza received a grant of US$ 35,000 from Safaricom foundation Kenya to construct a community cotton hand spinning and weaving work shop center in Bondo and purchase additional 2 hand looms and 10 spinning wheels. The Assets of Pendeza has grown from US$ 250 in 1980 to US$ 51,000 to date.
